Thank you to everyone who signed the petition, and for your continued interest! There’s more to come…

As of November 12, 2025, we ended signature collection and submitted signatures for certification on November 13. The Town Clerk notified the Select Board on November 23rd that the required 15% of registered voters on the petition was not met by the signatures submitted. Although this all but guarantees that there will not be a Charter Commission question on Brookline’s 2026 May ballot, we believe the certification process was not carried out with the diligence required for an accurate accounting. We continue to assess the many concerning issues in the certification process, to document the hundreds of Brookline voters and signers of this petition wrongly excluded from certification, and to consider our options for most effectively advocating for those voters to be accurately and fairly counted in the question of whether to have a Charter Commission ballot question in Brookline.
